Crafting Stories Through Wine

A journey from New York to South Africa, through the vineyards of France and Italy, discovering the art and soul of winemaking.

My wine journey

Nana was introduced into the world of wine during his sophomore year at Pace University, where he worked for the prestigious Julius Braun Wines and Liquors located between Lexington and Park Avenue in New York City. At Julius Braun, Nana started from the very bottom of the ladder as a Floor Assistant and worked his way to the very top to become the Sales Manager.

Between 1995 and 1999, Nana lived and worked in South Africa as the Regional Manager in charge of Africa and Middle East Division for Colgate Palmolive. During this period Nana’s passion for wine was rekindled and he travelled extensively in the wine growing provinces in Cape Town to savor and explore the amazing wineries and vineyards. In the fall of 2011, Nana embarked on a pilgrimage to the wine growing regions in France and Italy, where he immersed himself in the history, culture, gastronomy, cultivation and production of wine.

Although Nana had gained a lot of knowledge about wine from work, experience and exploration, he still felt the need to pass through a rigorous formal education on Oenology and viticulture to cement his place as a Sommelier. To achieve this quest, Nana enrolled at the world-famous International Wine & Spirit Centre in New York in 2012 to pursue the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Limited (WSET) program.
